Students who are vying to be their generation’s next top journalists were honored Thursday at the Detroit Free Press High School Journalism Program’s annual awards banquet. Since 1987, the Ford Motor Co. Fund has awarded a $24,000 college scholarship to a Detroit high school senior in the program who intends to pursue a career in journalism. This year’s winner is Rokeyta Roberson, a senior at Renaissance High School in Detroit. Read more here
